Parli Italiano

TODAY IS THE DAY!

I am headed to Florence to study at Studio Arts Center International, more commonly referred to as SACI. School officials are no longer meeting us at the airport to give us apartment keys, so now I will have to take a taxi to school and then to the apartments. On the bright side, I connected with a lot of girls who are on my flights so I won't be completely alone!

I've been packed for a while ("a while" meaning two weeks.. That's how excited I am!) I have a LOT of movies, which will also be great for movie nights...

And a LOT of snacks...

And now I'm just waiting to go to the airport! My furry friends aren't so happy, though. One tried to sneak into my suitcase!

As it is getting down to the nitty gritty here, I am even more excited for my classes, as most of them are classes I can only take in Florence! I'll be taking:

-Conservation of Archaeological Artifacts where the current projects include
Cerrete di Sestano, a 6th century BCE Etruscan burial site
Belmonte Warrior’s Tomb, from the 6th century BCE
             Cetamura, a 1st-2nd century BCE Etruscan/Roman site

-Fresco Painting (when would I ever get to do this in the States?!)

-History of Italian Cinema (a class where I get to watch my FAVORITE Italian movies?! YES PLEASE!!!!)

-Creative Writing (we'll see how this one goes.. But the teacher is supposed to be great)

     -Italian (speak with the hands!!)

Well, this may be it until I get to Firenze. I'm not sure how much I'll be posting yet, as it depends on my school and travel schedule (I already know I want to go to Venice Carnival in February!).  Follow me on my journey!

Ciao for now!
