Waxing Plaster
Today was exhausting, mainly because I only slept four hours last night. So, it's a good thing I only have one class on Monday! In sculpture today, I began to polish and wax my plaster horses. I'm keeping the piece white, but I am sealing it with wax so the plaster doesn't flake off and so the white is not as bright. I also started to finish up my elephant, fixing its ears and beginning to draw a design on its trunk, pictured below. Because my elephant is so wide and short, I couldn't do the design I originally wanted to do, so I'm doing a portion of it with a flower and a heart.
After class, I came home and ate a snack (my new favorite)-- Tuscan bread with fresh pesto, fresh parmesan and a balsamic vinegar glaze. The central market has really fresh items so I want to eat what I bought right away!
The rest of my evening was spent reading my latest murder mystery that takes place in Florence (The Drowning River by Christobel Kent). It's not even 8pm here but I'm really tired since I didn't sleep and tomorrow is my long day of classes so...
Ciao for now!
