A Day in the Ceramics Studio
Today was a busy ceramics day since it was the second (and last) day to work on our Raku pieces. Today I made a cherry blossom candle holder...
And two penguins (that are much cuter in person!)...
Even though I got a lot done today, I still have to go in to work over the weekend because I have to make one more piece by Tuesday. I also noticed that a few of my pieces have been fired in the kiln. Below is my box, which hasn't yet been glazed (hence the orange-brown color of the fired clay).
My vase was also fired, and now I'll just need to put a glaze on top of it and then it will be done.
My rhino must be in the kiln now because it wasn't on the shelf outside. Hopefully it turns out okay! I have to be up really early tomorrow because my sculpture class is going on a field trip to Pietrasanta and Carrara to see the marble quarries and studios) so....
Ciao for now!
